Vermes Nóra: Escape
The forest air is almost motionless, a light mist lies over the ground, and small animals rustle. The hunter searches for his prey with full concentration. When he spots it in the distance, he takes aim — and fires! ‘Escape’ begins (like every good story) at the beginning: the origin of civilization. With the story of the first hunt, the first symbolic moment of patriarchal narrative and identity formation.
The storyteller of Escape attempts to reinterpret this origin story using the language of puppet theatre — through associative thinking, shifts in perspective, dialogue with objects and materials, through awkwardness and absurdity.
